DESCRIPTION:See Full Class Description here. \nIn this class you will learn how to navigate the pattern catalogues to find that outfit you have in mind instead of trudging from shop to shop trying on endless outfits which may not be the fabric or fit you would like but best you can find available. From the catalogue where you have found exactly the pattern you like\, you can choose your own fabric as suggested in the pattern resulting in an original garment made to your own fit. \nThe three important elements of a pattern are : \n\nThe pattern envelope\,\nThe Instruction sheet\nThe tissue pattern pieces\n\nEach of the 3 elements have very important information which will be fully explained in a systemic and easy to understand fashion to build your knowledge and confidence.\nStudents are supplied with explanation handouts and during the class will have different exercises on laying up of fabric with straight grain\, lengthening and shortening of the pattern and the terminology of the funny sewing language of a pattern. \nAfter completing the Understanding Commercial Pattern Class you will have the skills and knowledge from the very first step of purchasing a pattern to selecting suitable fabrics for the pattern\, laying up\, cutting and construction resulting in an original completed garment.
